Essential Maintenance Procedures for Refrigerated Fleets
Most of the goods that need to be stored in a
refrigeration truck body have a very limited shelf life. Particularly during
periods of extreme heat, the goods are more prone to decomposition and
degradation. Nevertheless, refrigeration units remain a crucial component,
which is why refrigerated vehicles are still so prevalent.
The compressor is prone to issues that ultimately lead to damage to the entire
refrigeration system, despite the refrigeration units having an exceptionally
long operational longevity. You need to check your body temperature every four
hours for this reason in order to guarantee that the temperature reading in the
compartment that is being refrigerated is within the established range of plus
or minus six degrees Celsius. The temperature may not be within this range for
a variety of reasons, and the issue will need to be resolved based on the
specific circumstances.
The refrigerator may be in the process of defrosting or may have recently
completed its defrosting cycle, which could be one of the reasons for this. If
this is the case, you may choose to postpone any further action until the
refrigeration unit's defrost process is complete, at which point you may
conduct an additional check. It is conceivable that the evaporator is
obstructed. To defrost the evaporator that is situated on the body in this
particular case, you will need to perform a freezing procedure.
Before loading anything onto the refrigeration truck body, you need to
double check everything that is required. Ensure that the power system of the
transport refrigerated truck, a component of the truck-related system, is
functioning properly to ensure that the vehicle can start ordinarily. You need
to check that the temperature recorded on the refrigerator truck is accurate in
addition to making sure that the compartment is free of any damage, whether
internal or external. Ensure that the compartment and ceiling section are in
good condition during the completion of this task.
The doors also need to be firmly fastened in addition to the ceiling strip
being correctly sealed. It is recommended that the refrigerated vehicle be
pre-cooled whenever possible. The driver is advised to activate the temperature
monitoring and alarm system, as well as the refrigeration unit, of the truck.
The refrigerated compartment door must be closed during the pre-cooling
protocol to prevent the refrigeration from being impacted by external air and
to extend the pre-cooling duration of the transport body compartment.
The refrigeration unit should be deactivated after the refrigerated truck has
been pre-cooled to the frigid temperature necessary for transportation. The
frozen meat can be promptly loaded onto the truck, and the refrigeration system
can be instantly deactivated. At the same time, it is imperative that the
loading process be completed in a timely manner to prevent the loss of frigid
air.
